Identify Your Goals

To begin, let's get crystal clear on what you want. Very few people truly know what they want, but almost everyone is crystal clear on what they don't want.

The problem is, your brain doesn't understand the difference—it just moves in the direction of whatever you focus on.

Let’s explore how to shift your focus toward what truly matters—first let's discuss how to set meaningful goals and align them with your business and your life.

Activity: Goal Brainstorming

Using the Worksheet link below, take the next 15 minutes to identify:

  • 12 personal goals for the next 12 months
  • 12 professional goals for the next 12 months

Don't worry if this seems like a lot—we'll refine these later. Right now, just get them out of your head and onto paper. Remember, we're not worried about the "how" yet—just focus on the "what."

Example Personal Goals:

  • Save $5,000 for a home down payment
  • Read one book per month on personal development
  • Plan one date night per week with my spouse
  • Train for and complete a half marathon

Example Professional Goals:

  • Earn my project management certification
  • Build my network by attending two industry events per month
  • Develop and present a new strategy for my department
  • Mentor two junior team members

The real magic happens when you take the time to complete these worksheets thoughtfully. Trust me, this process is a game-changer for building clarity, focus, and results. Let’s make it happen!
